Thank you for all the wonderful memories photographing your families. I will miss you all. It was a great 11 years! Time for me to do something different. Keep in touch.
My daughter is such a big help at times to me especially certain photo sessions. Sometimes she comes along to make silly faces to the kids to make them smile and help carry things. My son comes to but he always wants to know if he’s getting paid to help. She is not like that. This beach session we were actually taking pictures of her cousins so she came along. At the end I took some pictures of her by herself. What a wonderful daughter she is. The cousins beach session should be blogged by the end of the week. Stay tuned.
What a pretty daughter you have 🙂 I bet it’s nice having her help you, mine are too little to be of much help yet. I look forward to the day they can hold a reflector reliably!ReplyCancel
Here is another client reflection about how images have affected their lives and the reason they seek a professional photographer to have their memories captured. Thank M Family. Can’t wait to see you again this fall.
How long have you been coming to Michelle Baker Photography? Has it been 2 years? Or 3? Lol!!
What brought you in the first session? The beautiful pictures you did for john and trish- saw them and loved them!!
What has kept you coming back year after year? You!!! You are patient, make the picture process fun and don’t rush through the session.
Why do you have your children’s photos captured regularly? I am bad at taking pictures of my kids myself and love that you capture them every year for us to enjoy.
What are your hopes for your children’s future? Happiness, love and success in whatever they set out to achieve
What do you wish your children know about you and your husband? That having them has been our greatest achievement in life.
When you see your images, how do you feel? Happy and slightly amazed at my beautiful (inside and out) family!
I am starting a new series of blog posts (Client Reflections) to showcase my clients thoughts on how imagery of their family has affected them.
How long have you been coming to Michelle Baker Photography? Three years
What brought you in the the first session? Saw pictures Michelle took of a friend’s newborn twins that I loved!
What has kept you coming back year after year? Michelle’s unique ability to get great shots of my kids and family combined with her warm personality and excellent customer service
Why do you have your children’s photos captured regularly? To display in our house and have to capture them as they grow.
When you see images of your children in print, what makes you smile? Seeing their personalities come through in the pictures – and, of course, how beautiful they are!!
What do you wish your children know about you and your husband? How much we love and care about them
What is the one piece of advice you want to leave them? The importance of family and being a good person
What is your biggest challenge as a mom? greatest reward? Biggest challenge- being a working mom. Greatest reward- the hugs and smiles I get at the end of a work day
Thank you L family! I love photographing you and your children and especially love watching them grow each year. See you soon!
My best friend from Boston University came down to visit over Labor Day Weekend. You wouldn’t know by looking at these pictures that there is anything wrong with her. And that is how she treats life and what she is going through. She was diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). She has undergone chemo and a bone marrow transplant a year ago August. She had to be separated from her family for over 100 days after the transplant. I can’t imaging being away from my children who are basically the same age as hers for that amount of time. Her body is free from the cancer which is great but it is not producing red blood cells and platelets. So she must go again for a 2nd transplant sometime next year. Her daughter has her Bat Mitzvah in November so the transplant will be planned after that if needed. We are all praying that her body starts producing these cells so she doesn’t need it.
She is working 3 days a week as a PT plus going to the doctors every week and sometimes needing a blood transfusion. I don’t know how she is doing it. If you talked with her for a few minutes you would never know anything is going on right now. She always wants to know what is going on with you and how she can help with anything. One thing I did as a result of this was to become a donor if needed in the Be the Match organization. They are always looking for people especially my age to help.
While she was here we updated her family photos. What a great looking family you guys are. We love you!
What an uplifting story! I hope her body kicks in and starts making red blood cells and platelets so she doesn’t need another transplant! And what a great gift you’ve given her family here!ReplyCancel
Such a sweet looking family! Thanks for spreading the word about the importance of donor lists, though hopefully your friend keeps improving and doesn’t need any more major treatments.ReplyCancel
My niece was visiting us recently and we went out to have a photo shoot. I photographed her sister for her senior photos a couple of years ago. It is hard to believe that she is going to be 14 in a month. Where does the time go by? And why so fast!! Thanks Julia for a fun afternoon. We’ll do it again when you are a senior. But let’s slow time down a little so we can enjoy it. Love you, Auntie.

Usually I do a photo session with my children together at the end of the season however this season, they weren’t down together at the same time. Katie was visiting a friend this weekend and the following weekend, Christopher was sick and didn’t go down to Avalon, just Katie. So there will be separate blog posts about each child. Hope you don’t mind. Christopher was quite cooperative with this shoot because he had an alternative motive. Recently I started selling photo jewelry and my sample, I put a picture of Katie on it. I think Christopher was a little hurt and wanted his picture around my neck. I said you have to have a photo shoot with me and he said “Sure.”
Off we went to my favorite beach in Avalon. It has great paths to the beach and the dunes go up really high. You can get some really high pictures in there. A couple of blocks away is the fishing pier and it is a great place to get pictures especially with families.
Here are some recent newborns that I photographed at a workshop. I love working with newborns. There is something magical about that time. They are growing so quickly that before you know it that time is over. I love getting the little details of their fingers, toes, lips and even the curls of their hair. The best time to photograph all those details are during the first 2 weeks of life. (7-10 days is ideal). Let us know what your due date is and we will schedule you on the calendar. That way we have you in our schedule even during the busy times. I can’t wait to present you with those precious images of your child. Call today to schedule an appointment.
One of my favorite clients called a couple of months ago because her sister and nephew were in town and they wanted some pictures of all of them. First of all how handsome is the older nephew and so well behaved. They remind me a lot of my kids and their cousins. There is a bit of an age difference also but my kids (who are the older ones love playing with their younger cousins). I can tell this happens also in this family. The little ones look up to their “older” cousin and he is so great with them. Also how beautiful are these sisters?!
Each week for the next couple of weeks, I am going to showcase some of the different products we have available here at Michelle Baker Photography, LLC. Today is a new product line that I am very excited for. It is photo jewelry. I recently attended a workshop in July and the instructor was wearing a beautiful necklace with a picture of her children on it. She told us about the product line and I signed up to be a vendor. I am so excited to be able to offer everyone another idea for gifts especially for holidays and birthdays. I am wearing one of the necklaces now so if you see me around town, check it out.
Imagine your new photos preserved inside a beautiful piece of jewelry. All photos are sealed inside with a UV resistant, glossy coating that is 100% waterproof. The jewelry is either solid sterling silver or 14k gold. Here are just some ideas for you to think about: necklaces, bracelets, rings, pins, key chains, money clips, keepsake boxes, lockets, magnets, bookmarks and more.
I recently attended a workshop in Red Bank NJ with the talented and wonderful Ana Brandt from Ca. She focuses mostly on maternity and newborns. She was an open book and answered all of our questions. We had such beautiful new Mama’s to photograph. We did some in the studio and on location. The pregnant body is such a beautiful thing and I would love to photograph this wonderful time for you. Email me at michelle@michellebakerphotography.com or call 856-313-0130.
